Foiled again!
Too foggy again! What a bummer. I had 5 other teammates ready to swim with me and we all just stood there and commiserated that, yes, it was definitely too foggy to swim since we couldn't even see the beach. Maybe tomorrow....

White caps
59 degrees air temp ... white caps, waves going sideways, raining and windy and no one to swim with ... no way! Maybe tomorrow with my teammates.
15 crabs... 55 minutes
(Delayed post from Friday 6/27) 15 crabs and 2 hermit crabs, that is how I kept myself going. Hardly enough to get excited about but just enough to keep swimming for 55 minutes straight, my longest in the ocean. I swam to the pier and back... about 2.4 miles round trip. The time is not boding well for my P2P race as I was hoping to do about 55 minutes but I have heard the current really pushes you along after Fort Gorges so their is still hope, as well as the fact I will be in racing mentality. I have been feeling somewhat sluggish in the ocean compared to how fast and smooth I have been feeling in the pool and lake. I think it is the cold, as well as the endurance required with waves pushing me around.

Long deserved....
I had to wait three days for this one... too foggy on Sunday... thunder on Tuesday and then low and behold I was able to get a double session in on Wednesday. Two miles to Richmond Island at 9am ... 46 minutes although we didn't go all the way to the beach. And then at 5pm 1.2 miles along Crescent Beach, much warmer and very relaxing. Summer is here!

First day of summer!
what a great feeling to be back in the ocean! 60 degrees and with the fog rolling in and out, the sun continued to shine. A bit cold on the plunge but then it was okay. I did feel a lot slower than the lake swims I have been doing the last two weeks. On friday we did a 2-mile Crystal Lake swim that felt just awesome. I was in such a groove. My shoulders hurt a bit for the first .3 of a mile but then they were fine. Different today at Kettle Cove, I definitely felt sluggish. Next swim tomorrow 5:30 Kettle Cove if the thunderstorms hold off.
